ORTHO K (Eye Dream, Wake & See, Menicon, Orthokeratology, OK)
Ortho K is a novel and safe procedure that uses special contact lenses to gently correct your vision whilst you sleep! Already established in many countries, Ortho K is safe and suitable for both adults & children.
The special Ortho K contact lenses are worn during sleep. In the morning, you simply remove the lenses from your eyes and benefit from clear vision all day. There is no need to wear any lenses or glasses during the day. No more lens related problems in dry, smoky, dusty environments. At Visioncare, we have invested in the latest 3D corneal mapping system. This together with our vast experience enables us to recommend Ortho K lenses with confidence. We have been fitting these lenses successfully for the past 10 years.
Our patients can now choose to have clear unaided vision all day, every day without having to wear any lenses or specs during the day. Our youngest patient is 7 years old. An added benefit is that they can also slow down the progression of myopia and unlike surgical procedures, Ortho K procedure is reversible.

Collection, fitting, handling, hygiene
2 week check
Overnight check, eyes examined, Corneal mapping
10 week check (if required)
Check to see whether eyes are healthy
Thereafter 6 monthly checks
Lenses are replaced every 6 months to ensure eyes remain healthy, reduce risk of regression and maintain corneas at their optimum shape to achieve best vision and healthy eyes.
Fees
- Initial consultation, corneal mapping, bio microscopy £175.00
- Cost of lenses + teach + hygiene + overnight check £325.00
- Monthly DD fee of £49.00/month to cover new lenses every 6 months plus all consultations and scans.
